Stand and be counted!

It's time to stand and be counted.

Join the B1S pedal registry...

Frankly, I've lost track of where all the B1S pedals are in the world, but I know the family spans many states and several continents and I'd like to get a reckoning.

If you have a B1S pedal, and would like to register it, shoot me an email at baddy1shoe@gmail.com and I'll list you on the new registration page.  Not only will this make you a cooler human being it will help me keep track of pedals should they ever require service.

You can see the roll call here.

Well, the Heartbreaker Overdrive is almost out, and it's almost sold out as well!  I'm keeping the first one, but out of the remaining three in the first run only one is still available.

I added some clips on the "clips and vids" page, but I wanted to share a preview of the pedal here as well.

The Heartbreaker is a low-gain overdrive that is equally at home on guitar and bass.  It sounds great with humbuckers and single coils.  In fact, it's hard to think of something this little lady can't do.  Well, she can't make you pancakes...

She's a sweet talker for sure though, with the perfect amount of drive on tap for a dynamic and harmonically rich overdrive that will keep you coming back for more.

The first batch of these will be ready to ship on Valentines day.

I will be doing a second run of these in March, but why wait? One of these little ladies is still waiting for a date.

Ten Thousand Views!

Wow, I go away for a couple of months and I come back and there are over 10,000 views on the B1S site!

Well, I'm officially back with a big announcement.  Along with raising my new daughter, and watching way too many seasons of Mad Men and Battlestar Galactica, I've spent the last few months re-tooling the B1S lineup.  I'm please to announce that I've made some improvements to the production process and have moved my most current design to PCBs.

What that means for you is increased standardization in the product you get, and solid components made to withstand whatever stomping you can give them.

What that means to me is that have streamlined the build process and can theoretically build more pedals faster with better quality control.

"Wait," you say "did you say new design?"

That's right, B1S is about to retire an old favorite to introduce it's new cousin.  The Honeycomb Overdrive will be retired in order to make way for The Heartbreaker Overdrive.

The Heartbreaker is in the same sonic neighborhood as the Honeycomb - it's a nice low drive with organic breakup and responsive tone control - but now with a slightly souped up gain control for extra grit!

"What does it look like?" you say.  Well, unconfirmed sources have leaked this photo of the Heartbreaker...

A picture of the finished product along with a more complete explanation will be coming soon, but this first test run of 4 (count 'em 4) will hopefully be complete in the next few weeks.

MSRP on these is rumored to be $128,000, but the street price will likely be $150 shipped to any doorstep in the Continental US.

Take a number tone fiends... trust me, you're going to want this little lady's digits!

An open letter about taking a break...

I've been talking about this on the forums for a few weeks so I should probably make this official - I'm putting production on hiatus for a bit.

I've had a blast building over the past year or so, but there's about to be a baby around the house in ten weeks or so, and my time is going toward getting ready for the little one.

I'm still prototyping some new ideas, and depending on how things go, I may release a new pedal in the spring, along with a newer version of the Honeycomb Overdrive, but until then I won't be making any planned runs of pedals.

I will, however, still be available for contact if anyone should have any questions or problems with B1S pedals that are already floating around pedalboards out there.  I may also have some one-offs and prototypes for sale on here from time to time.  I will also entertain the possibility of taking an order or two for one of my production pedals, but I won't be keeping them in stock (and I won't really be in a position to make any blanket predictions about lead time).  If you want a pedal, e-mail me and we'll talk.

Finally, I want to say thanks to all of you who are out there stomping on your Baddy One Shoe pedals everyday.  Make beautiful noise.

rock on,

Jim

The Wayfarer has been well received. In fact, so well received that the first run is completely sold out! I will be making a few more for orders that all came in just after I sold out. If you want in on this run I'll be taking orders for up to 4 more Wayfarers through this Friday 7/8. After that they'll be on hiatus for a while.

In other news, the new tube overdrive, (codename "Wild Goose") is up and running, and I'll be making a few of them as special order items. More to come on that...

I'm a wayfarin' stranger here...

Wayfarer #001 is boxed and ready to ship, and last night I was up soldering boards together so today I'll be starting final assembly on #002 and #003.  I'd love to have all of these sold and shipped by July.

#003 - #005 are still available.

$105 (+$10 shipping in the ConUS)
